Animation
There are various techniques involved in animation of which I concentrate on the areas of Flash and Stop-Go animation in relation to creating advertisements and short videos for clients websites.
What is Flash?
Adobe Flash is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity to web pages. Flash is frequently used for advertisements, games and flash animations for broadcast. More recently, it has been positioned as a tool for "Rich Internet Applications".
Flash manipulates vector and raster graphics to provide animation of text, drawings, and still images. It supports bidirectional streaming of audio and video, and it can capture user input via mouse, keyboard, microphone, and camera. Flash contains an object-oriented language called ActionScript and supports automation via the JavaScript Flash language.
Flash content may be displayed on various computer systems and devices, using Adobe Flash Player, which is available free of charge for common web browsers, some mobile phones, and a few other electronic devices (using Flash Lite).
Flash has become less popular in relation to web design in recent years due to the rise in popularity of Apple products (iPad and iPhone) and their failure to support this platform on their IOS devices.
What is Stop-Go animation?
In animation stop motion animation is a cinematic process, or technique used to makes static objects appear as if they were moving. This technique is commonly used in claymation and puppet-based animation. The objects are brought to life by breaking up the figure's motion into increments and filming one frame of film per increment.
The techniques I impliment are either to photograph and object at each stage of motion and compile into a single short film or to use software like Adobe Fireworks to create short films or advertisements from static images (known as animated Gif's).
